Library of Things

A patron must be 16 or older to check out. Patrons younger than that must have a parent/guardian with them so it can be checked out on the patron/guardian’s account.
Loan period: 2 weeks with one renewal available only if no one is on the waiting list for it.
$5 a day if overdue.

Once it is three days overdue the patron’s credit card will be charged the full replacement
cost for the guitar kit. This charge will be refunded minus the late fee if the kit is
returned.

Limit: 1 guitar per household

Cannot be checked out if the patron’s account is not in good standing (over $2 in fines).
Do not place in book drop (outside or inside) upon return.

Guitars must be checked out and returned at the Reference Desk on the 2nd floor.
Patrons are responsible for any damages, loss, or theft of the guitar kit while it is checked out to them.

Replacement costs are as follows:
● Yamaha Gigmaker Guitar: $200.00
● Protective Gigbag: $15.00
● Tuner: $10.00
● Guitar Lesson DVD: $15.00
● Guitar Strap: $10.00
● Total: $250.00

In order to check out a hotspot the borrower must sign a “Mobile Hotspot Borrowing Agreement” with the following criteria:

Checking out a mobile hotspot requires a $20 cash deposit that will be refunded upon the return of the hotspot. Any fees accrued from returning the hotspot late, damaged, incorrectly, or with items missing will be subtracted from the cash deposit. Any deposit not collected upon returning the hotspot will be considered a donation to the library after 90 days.

Borrower must be 18 or older with a valid library card and phone number.

Borrower’s account must be in good standing (no overdue items or fines that exceed $2.00).

Only one hotspot can be checked out to a household at a time.

Borrower is responsible for the replacement cost of the hotspot itself and all attached items if lost, stolen, or damaged.

Replacement costs are as follows:

▪ Wi-Fi Hotspot - $80
▪ Charging Box/USB Cable - $10
▪ Battery - $20
▪ Protective Case - $15

Mobile hotspots must be checked out and returned at the Reference Desk on the 2nd floor. Returning in the outside book drop or anywhere other than the Reference Desk could result in a fine of $5.

Mobile Hotspot Borrowing Agreement. By signing the agreement and checking out a mobile hotspot:

You are assuming responsibility for any damage, loss, or theft of the device while it is checked out to you.

You will be responsible for the entire replacement cost of the mobile hotspot and attached items.

You agree to abide by FLPL’s Computer Use and Internet Safety Policy found at
flpl.org/computeruse and acknowledge that any violation of policy may result in your temporary or permanent barring from any internet access provided by the library.

You would otherwise lack access to equipment or services sufficient to meet educational needs if not for the use of the equipment or services provided by the library.

Devices and service funded by the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library Foundation, The Emergency Connectivity Fund, and the FCC.

Backpacks are checked out to patrons ages 18 and older whose library card is in good standing.

Backpacks are checked out for 2 weeks with no option of renewal.

A $10 cash, refundable deposit is required at checkout. $5 per day late fee.

Backpacks are to be checked out and returned to the Circulation Desk on the first floor.

Backpacks are not to be returned in the bookdrops located outside or inside the library.

Patrons checking out a backpack are responsible for any missing items. See the Circulation Desk for itemized replacement costs.

Backpack themes include: Nature, Tennessee River, Art, Baking, Gardening, Native American History, Music, and Architecture.
